Social Media Content Volunteer
Position Title: Social Media Content Volunteer
Reports To: Programs, Partnerships, and Communications Intern
Commitment: ~5 hours/week (including one 1-hour weekly virtual meeting)
Location: Remote
Platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn
Position Overview
Women Leading Peace is seeking a Social Media Content Volunteer to support its communications efforts across Instagram and LinkedIn. The volunteer will work closely with the communications intern to develop and execute content that reflects WLP's mission of advancing gender justice and women's leadership in the context of Afghanistan. This is a hands-on opportunity for a passionate individual with design or marketing skills who wants to apply their work toward meaningful social change.
Responsibilities

Collaborate in weekly virtual planning meetings to develop content ideas and creative direction

Assist with designing graphics and visual assets for Instagram and LinkedIn

Help maintain and update the organization's content calendar

Contribute to drafting captions, post copy, and other written content as needed

Ensure content aligns with WLP's voice, mission, and branding guidelines
Qualifications

Background or coursework in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field

Demonstrated interest in gender rights, human rights, or social justice, particularly as it relates to Afghanistan and the broader region (academic, professional, or personal)

Familiarity with Instagram and LinkedIn as content platforms

Experience with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar preferred (Canva will be primarily used for the duration of the position)

Strong communication skills and ability to meet weekly deadlines

About the Role:
We are seeking an Advocacy Campaign Coordinator to design and lead campaigns focused on promoting gender equality and women’s inclusion in Afghanistan. This role requires creativity, organization, and a passion for driving change.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute advocacy campaigns, including social media drives and petitions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent messaging.
- Develop strategies to mobilize support and raise awareness.
- Monitor campaign progress and adjust plans as needed.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
- Interest in advocacy, gender equality, and Afghanistan’s political context.
- Experience in planning events or campaigns (preferred but not required).
Fundraising and Grants Coordinator
About the Role:
The Fundraising and Grants Coordinator will lead efforts to secure funding to sustain and grow our programs. This role involves identifying funding opportunities, writing proposals, and managing donor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify potential grants and funding sources.
- Write and submit grant proposals and reports.
- Lead a team to manage fundraising activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors and partners.
Requirements:
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Experience in fundraising or donor outreach (preferred but not required).
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of nonprofit funding opportunities (especially for women-led organizations) is a plus.
Podcast Coordinator
About the Role:
We are looking for a Podcast Coordinator to manage our podcast series, which focuses on amplifying the voices of Afghan women peacebuilders and advocating for gender equality. The coordinator will develop engaging content, work with speakers, and oversee production to ensure the podcast aligns with our mission.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and produce podcast episodes from start to finish.
- Identify and invite guest speakers, including Afghan women peacebuilders and experts.
- Write scripts and talking points for episodes.
- Edit and review podcast content to ensure quality and consistency.
- Promote episodes on social media and other platforms.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for gender equality and the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda.
- Basic audio editing skills (training can be provided).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
